President Biden today signed a continuing resolution extending current federal funding levels for health care and other programs through Dec. 23. Passed by the House and Senate this week, the legislation also extends through Dec. 23 the Medicare-dependent Hospital and enhanced Low-volume Adjustment programs, two expiring programs that help maintain access to care in rural communities. AHA continues to advocate for a long-term extension of these programs.
Senate and House appropriators this week announced a bipartisan agreement on a framework for an omnibus spending package that would fund the government for fiscal year 2023. Congressional negotiators continue to discuss details of the package, which could be voted on sometime next week.
