HEREFORD TOWNSHIP PA – A hit-and-run driver, whose identity is not yet known, is being sought by Pennsylvania State Police from the Troop L Barracks in Reading in connection with a property damage accident. It occurred sometime between Friday (Nov. 11, 2022) at 9:30 p.m. and Saturday (Nov. 12) at 7:30 a.m. near a residence at 54 Star Rd. in Hereford, Berks County, troopers said.
The driver being sought was traveling westbound on Seisholtzville Road just east of Star Road in an unidentified vehicle when he or she attempted to turn south onto Star. The vehicle was moving “too fast to negotiate the left turn,” troopers reported, and the driver lost control.
The vehicle “traveled off the southbound side of Star Road and struck the mailbox” of the residence. The driver, who fled the scene, is being sought, pending investigation, on a charge of failure in his or her “duty to give information and render aid” to the property owner.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Troopers indicated their investigation is continuing.
