Hyatt has opened the first property under its Regency brand in the US state of Utah.
The 25-storey hotel has been built on the site of a former car park in the southeast corner of the Salt Palace Convention Center complex, around seven miles from Salt Lake City International airport.
At 700 rooms the hotel is one of the largest in the city, and features views of the city skyline and Wasatch mountains.
Facilities include the rooftop pool and Mar / Muntanya restaurant, serving Northern Spanish cuisine, as well as all day dining restaurant The Salt Republic, Contribution cocktail lounge, and the grab and go Market for coffee a
ballroom and largest outdoor rooftop space in Salt Lake City, and the Broadcast Lounge, giving guests “the option to attend a live conference in a hybrid manner”.
Commenting on the opening general manager, Pina Purpero said:
“The development of Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City has been in the works for a long time. The project was envisioned by Salt Lake County and industry partners more than ten years ago to address the growing demand of large-scale events.
“The ethos of the Hyatt Regency brand was a natural fit to bring this vision to life, adding modernity and vibrancy to the city’s central core.”
Recent Hyatt Regency additions to the US market include the Hyatt Regency Houston West, and the 400-room Hyatt Regency JFK Airport at Resorts World New York.
